Roturner Patient Transfer Aid
Roturner Patient Transfer Aid
The risk of back pain and other musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) is a very real issue for caregivers and nurses.
Consider the amount of physical effort that is required and the awkward positions that a nurse or caregiver may have to get into when transferring a patient from a sitting to a standing position. The use of a roturner Patient Transfer Aid can remove the need for manual handling and lower the risk of injury to the caregiver, while providing a safer, more dignified and comfortable transfer solution for the patient.
Robust, strong and built to last
Originally fabricated in Haverhill, Suffolk, England since 1987, the roturner is now being made in St. Catharines, ON, Canada, – thousands are in use in NHS and private hospitals, care homes and residences in England and Europe. Manufactured from premium steel it is robust, strong and built to last by our team of skilled tradespeople.
A safer, more comfortable and dignified experience for the patient
A safer, more comfortable and dignified experience for the patient The sturdy frame instils confidence in the patient as they make the transition between a bed, seat, commode or wheelchair. The wide turntable provides a stable and safe area that the patient can step onto while the transfer takes place. It rotates between five different positions with a locking device to ensure patient safety. The patient’s risk and fear of falling is diminished with the curved support frame providing added security and peace of mind as the patient is actively involved in the transfer, which will improve their circulation and they can enjoy a sense of independence rather than just being passively lifted from one place to another.
A simplified, less risky solution for the caregiver
To the uninitiated moving a person with limited mobility from a bed to a wheelchair may seem like a very simple process. To the caregiver the risk of back injury in carrying out this task repeatedly throughout the day is a very real occupational hazard. Fortunately using the roturner Patient Transfer Aid greatly diminishes this risk as it eliminates the need to lift the patient. Bearing wheels make the roturner very easy to maneuver over all types of floor coverings. In the majority of cases, providing the appropriate risk assessment has been undertaken, a single caregiver can manage the transfer when using the roturner, freeing up resources that can be utilized in other areas.
